RIVERDALE, N.J. –- Riverdale Crossing, a new two-story shopping center located in this Morris County Township, is now 100% leased.

Border’s Books and Music has recently signed a lease to occupy 22,000 square feet of space at the complex, completing the leasing program at Riverdale Crossing, according to Garden Commercial Properties, which is developing the new 260,000 square-foot facility along the emerging Route 23 retail corridor.

The prominent national retailer joins Linens-n-Things, The Sports Authority, Pier One Imports, Wal-Mart and Chili’s restaurant as tenants at Riverdale Crossing.  Preliminary site work at Riverdale Crossing has been completed, and construction on the two-level superstructure is well underway.

“The continued growth of residential housing in Morris and Passaic Counties has created a strong demand for shopping facilities, specialty shops and restaurants throughout the region,” says Scott Loventhal, Director of Development at the Short Hills, N.J.-based Garden Commercial Properties.

“The Route 23 corridor extending from Wayne to West Milford has emerged as a prime destination for national retailers hoping to establish operations here.

The strong desire for these stores to enter this market enabled us to complete the lease-out of Riverdale Crossing in short order.”

Situated directly on Route 23, adjacent to the intersection of Route 287, the center will be located in close proximity to several other major thoroughfares including Routes 202, 46 and 80.

“Riverdale Crossing will not only fulfill the conveniences of those in Morris and Passaic Counties, it will also prove beneficial to Bergen County residents who will find it ideal, especially for Sunday shopping,” Mr. Loventhal points out.
